Seattle’s Safest Driver contest

Are you an excellent driver? Are your customers? Find out with Seattle’s Safest Driver, an app that uses telematics to score your driving behaviors, such as speeding or hard braking.

The insurance industry has been quickly adopting telematics, using data directly from drivers’ behind-the-wheel behaviors as a pricing or discount factor.

At PEMCO, we’re currently looking at how to incorporate this technology with our product to keep us competitive and growing. Before we implement, now is a good time for each of us to learn how it works.

We all have a chance to try it out with the Seattle’s Safest Driver app.

We teamed up with the City of Seattle’s Department of Transportation (SDOT) and Cambridge Mobile Telematics for the second year in a row, with the goal of awarding a grand prize to the safest driver. The app uses telematics to score your driving behaviors, such as speeding or hard braking.

Community Agents aren’t eligible to win the contest, (PEMCO is supplying the prize money), but your customers are!  With telematics on the horizon, this is a great way to see how it works and experience it for ourselves.

Share the contest on social media, and start a friendly competition with your friends and family. This is a fun way to learn about telematics. Looking forward to seeing who the safest drivers are!
